Customers don’t care about your documents.

It’s easy to get lost in the work behind the work: meetings, decks, and docs. Your job is not to craft the perfect artifact. Your job is to make money for the business by delivering value to the customers.

Actionable advice: at the end of each week, journal how your work connects back to the customer’s needs. In addition to better understanding your current work, these reflections can be shaped into something new: your resume or portfolio, an article, a book, or even a new product.
